Photo Genres Independent Shoot 2
Plans for shoot:
My intentions for Shoot 2 of Photo Genres is to focus on landscape photography. My aim is to capture beauty in the landscape, carefully selecting where I take pictures from and the composition of the objects that are also in the image, for example trees and rivers. I hope to get a great collection as I will be photographing in Norway.

Images that need Improvement
I have selected this this image because of the car which can be seen in he background crossing the bridge. I think it interrupts the naturalistic setting.
I have selected this image because the exposure is too high, therefore the image is too bright. However this can be improved and edited in Photoshop.
I have selected this image because a person interrupted the shot and takes away the main focus of the sunset. I also think the settings on the camera was off, or the image was too dark because it looks a bit grainy.
AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
My idea for Photo Genres Shoot 2 was to capture landscapes, while keeping in mind good compositions and times of the day. I want to capture a morning landscape, a sunny afternoon landscape, an evening landscape and a a sunset landscape. The compositions of the images should have strong lines and positions that have been thought through, for example following the rule of thirds. I believe my compositions are very successful as I have strong lines in my images, for example any rivers or lakes are centred and represent strong leading lines. However, my images could be improved a lot if I had used a tri pod.
AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.
To refine my images I put them into Photoshop and edited them all using the same three layers, Hue and Saturation, Brightness and Contrast, and Curves. Each image needed it's own settings, below the finished image is a screen capture of the layers and some settings. Some images were taken early in the morning, so they look quite dark on the camera. However once I added more saturation to the image it looked much more vibrant, just as it was when I saw it in person.
AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
